Punjab Home-Based Workers Survey (PHBWS)

The Punjab Home-Based Workers Survey (PHBWS) 2016–17 was a province-wide survey conducted by the Punjab Bureau of Statistics to collect information on home-based workers aged 15 years and above in urban and rural Punjab. The survey gathered data on workers' demographic characteristics, education, employment status, working conditions, income, market access, social protection, and awareness of labor rights. Its primary objective was to provide an evidence base for policy formulation and improve the welfare, recognition, and legal protection of home-based workers, particularly women, who constitute the majority of this workforce.
