PEW RESEARCH CENTER FOR THE PEOPLE & THE PRESS EARLY OCTOBER 2008 POLITICAL/ECONOMIC SURVEY

The Pew Research Center for the People & the Press Early October 2008 Political/Economic Survey was conducted October 9–12, 2008 with N=1,485 U.S. adults. The survey was fielded during the height of the 2008 presidential campaign, capturing voter preferences, swing voter dynamics, battleground state classifications, and economic/political attitudes.

Interviews were conducted via RDD landline and cell phone samples, including both cell-only and dual landline-cell households. The dataset supports analysis of voter intention ("horserace"), swing voter classification, partisan battleground breakdowns, and a Pew Likely Voter Scale used to model turnout.
