March 29–April 1, 2012 Pew News Interest Index Omnibus Survey

The Pew Research Center News Interest Index Omnibus Survey was conducted March 29–April 1, 2012 with a nationally representative sample of 1,000 U.S. adults. Data were collected through random-digit-dial (RDD) interviews of both landline and cell phones, including cell-only households. The dataset includes a weight variable (WEIGHT) that must be applied when analyzing the full combined sample. Respondents’ self-reported ZIP codes are used to assign geographic identifiers, improving accuracy compared to sample-based geocoding. Personally identifiable information such as phone numbers, counties, and ZIP codes has been removed for confidentiality
