Fertilizer Usage, Production per Acre Across Punjab 2002-2015

Agriculture is central component of Pakistan’s economy. It accounts for approximately 18% of the Gross Domestic Product and together with agro-based products fetches 80% of the country’s total export earnings. According to the findings of the Agriculture Department of the Government of Punjab more than 48% of the labor force is engaged in this sector. The main agricultural products produced in this area are wheat, rice, cotton, and sugarcane. We analyse the production of these four crops against the usage of fertilizer from 2002-2015.
