This is the Annual Policing Plan 2020-2021 of Jhang District and has been framed keeping in view the statutory provisions of the Police Order 2002. The objective of this plan is to afford environment to the people of the district in which they do not have a general sense of insecurity. It is aimed at reducing crime about which people are really worried. Policing in modern times is a complex task. The days of the retroactive policing are over and a new era of proactive policing has commenced. Therefore this annual policing plan has been framed keeping in view the geographical location of the district, its essential features, analysis of the past five years crime along with wide ranging discussions, debates, seminars, interviews, consultations and meetings held with a cross section of society. This plan adequately reflects the trend of crime and the needs and expectations of the community. Not only the measurable targets have been identified, key actions and mechanism to achieve these targets have also been mentioned under each head of crime.
Achieving the objectives outlined in the plan is a gigantic as corresponding task. Adequate resources are not available to the district. Responsibility of maintaining public peace has become complicated and beset with suicidal attacks unleashed by the scourge of terrorism. Notwithstanding these shortcomings, district police Jhang is determined to strive to the utmost for realization of these targets so that qualitative and meaningful policing is provided to the people on whose behalf we undertake these onerous responsibilities. We plan to work in close cooperation with law abiding citizens and representatives of local government for establishment of rule of law as well as apprehension of offenders. We substantially depend on public support by bringing about qualitative change in the attitude of the police particularly the staff posted at the police stations so that our fight against both crime and criminals is undertaken with necessary strength and support of the people. I am confident that we will deliver in accordance with the expectations of the people as I have faith in my officers and subordinates for adequately meeting this challenge.
