Weights:

WEIGHT – for combined landline + cell interviews (default for analysis).

LLWEIGHT – for analysis of landline-only respondents.

CELLWEIGHT – for analysis of cell-only respondents.

Geographic variables: Since 2008, geographic identifiers are based on respondents’ self-reported ZIP codes. Original sample geographic variables (prefixed with "s") remain only for archival purposes.

Privacy protection: Telephone numbers, counties, and ZIP codes were removed from the dataset.

Constructed variables:

racecmb: Combines multiple race items into consolidated categories.

racethn: Combines race and Hispanic origin into a race-ethnicity classification.
